Repair Service

Having worked extensively in repairing sound equipment for the past two decades, Atomic Analog founder Vinny Wood spends a certain amount of his time providing the love and care to old audio equipment that deserves to live a fruitful life, rather than sitting in a damp basement feeling sorry for itself. The following is just an idea of what comes through the door here at the workshop in Reykjavík;

  • Vintage Microphones (tube, ribbon, dynamic, crystal, anything)
  • Vacuum Tube Audio Equipment of all forms
  • Tape Machines (we avoid consumer machines such as Akai, TEAC, Philips)
  • PA Amplifiers
  • Guitar Amplifiers
  • Tape Echos
  • Mixing Consoles
  • Electronic Instruments (synths, organs, drum machines, etc)

Design consulting for others

Atomic Analog has been doing Electronics design work for other companies for a number of years now. Mostly audio-related but not restricted to that, we can provide as much as the project needs, whether it be just a short consultancy and peer-reviewing of schematics and PCB layouts, or a complete system design from concept to working circuit board. We have worked on a wide variety of projects from industrial control systems to test fixtures to microphone components. There are a number of products out in the world now with our design work inside. And when it comes to audio equipment, we love to collaborate on exciting projects.

Tape Transfer Service

With the use of our extensive collection of vintage recording machines we can transfer your old and cherished analog tape recordings over to digital. We can handle almost all analog audio tape formats from 1/8” cassette up to 2” open-reel tape. We can also handle some other formats including VHS and DAT. Before any transfer we put your tapes through a dehydration process to ensure a successful transfer. Please get in touch and we will try our best to help you.

Our sister company - Studio Silo

From 2014 to 2019 Atomic Analog founder Vincent Wood and his wife Una (along with so many friends helping!) built a remarkable professional Recording Studio within the Fish Factory Creative Centre project. The analog-centric Studio comprises five rooms designed by John H.Brandt and built to the highest standard. Here you can record an entire project analog if you wish, while digital is always available too. Within this facility there is also a disc cutting lathe which allows Artists to have their music cut straight to vinyl record. For more info check out the website here: studiosilo.is
