About Atomic Analog

Founded by Electronics Designer, Recording Engineer and Musician Vincent Wood, Atomic Analog builds electrical sound equipment to an impeccable standard in both sonic and physical pedigrees. We produce professional audio devices for both studio and stage. Our workshops lie in the remote East fjords of Iceland, and we strive to hand-build our devices so that they last and work flawlessly for a very long time. Our design ethics and production techniques have been cultivated through a colourful journey not only in sound equipment but also in large industrial control systems, automotive electronics, and devices in harsh environments. This has given us the awareness of the real challenges that technology is faced with. Our passion is to design intuitive devices that serve the music creator first and foremost. Through simplicity, ergonomics, and a sonic imprint that reflects precisely what the device is intended for. Rather than believing only in sonic purity, we believe in the delights of the aural experience and the myriad of colours that can be brought forward through harmonics, minute distortions, and artefacts.

Atomic Analog started with Vincent moving to Iceland in 2014. He delved deep into vacuum tube technology, transformer design, and Pro Audio. Many of the first prototypes now live in Studio Silo, the Tape-centric Recording Studio built by Vincent and his wife Una from 2014 to 2019.

2019 saw the release of the first product; the Special OP-6 microphone amplifier. These have been received to high acclaim with a series of well-known Artists and Producers now using them to sculpt their recordings.

The second product, released in 2023, is the Actifier in-line microphone booster. Many future products are currently in progress and will be presented for release soon.
